Hint, when a car has a 'vapor lock' problem, it won't start. But all of this has absolutely nothing at all to do with your issue of overheating. That high pressure prevents the fuel from boiling and causing vapor lock. I put in a new comp release when I installed the Bailey's kit too. That check valve also keeps the fuel pressure in the lines pretty high. If this doesn’t happen, and no water is flowing after 6 minutes, turn off the machine and wait until the brew head is cool to the touch. Replacing the fuel pump may fix it, but vapor lock is caused by gas boiling in the fuel line between the pump and carb. It runs and cuts great when it's running.idles well. After one cup of water has flown through the brew head and the steam wand, the vapor lock will be fixed. Should I be looking at carb diaphrams? Fuel lines? AFAIK, it doesn't leak fuel although it will leak at the cap if you don't tighten it pretty tight. Now I have a Bailey's big bore kit on it and have pulled the muffler a couple of times in the last 20 hours or so of run time.piston looks great so I think it's a little rich if anything. I was evidently running it too lean from the time I bought it and fried the piston. This saw has always been peculiar about starting after it's run out of gas, but not this bad. It'll do this sometimes if I run it out of gas too. Let it cool off, choke it, and it's running in 2 pulls. It won't even hit if I pour a capful of gas down the carb throat. Even if I fill it up, I can pull it 30 times and nothing. It’s important to reopen the valve slowly, as turning it too quickly could trip. If the engine starts, there's a good chance vapor lock is blocking fuel flow. After a few minutes, try starting the engine. A no start when warm is not always a vapor lock. Place a bag of ice on the fuel line between the fuel pump and carburetor and the one that connects to the fuel pump to bring down the fuel line's temperature and allow vapor fuel to condense. That was in 1965 and I have never seen a documented case of vapor lock since. I had a bad coil and was chasing wild geese for months. When the hose is in place, slowly reopen the propane valve a quarter turn. It started instantly just like it did when cold. After you’ve waited, reconnect the hose, making sure it’s properly tightened. During this time, the propane regulator will reset itself. 6 611 Discussion starter Ok I feel a little dumb right now but what are some good ways of fixing vapor lock on a 4.0.I really don't come across vapor lock too much at work. Is it possible.or maybe I should ask if it's likely.that a chain saw can vapor lock? My Dolmar 7900 will sometimes refuse to start if it's hot and low on fuel. Wait to reconnect the hose for about 30 seconds.
